How does one use tanden to cut through desire? It seems like when the anxious heady urge to follow through with a desire arises the awareness and functionality of tanden disappears precisely when I most need it.


Come on! Zazen is not something that you use for a crying child to make it stop crying. If someone in society does not have the wisdom to see their own desire, that is one thing. But to have access to that wisdom and then not to use it, that is not the responsibility of Zen. It is your responsibility to use it. Maybe you are too indulgent with yourself? Please review your own behavior well.
